COMMUNICATION

GESTURES-BODY LANGUAGES AND NONVERBAL COMMUNICATION(AMERICA)

Communication is a soft skill, involving speech, signals, writing and behaviour. It is a medium of interaction between someone with him/herself,as well as between someone and somebody else.

Most said that communication is only can be defined as words interaction, without realise that it's
also involving body languages and facial expressions which are practiced by everyone. For examples, police traffic handles traffic with hand movement,a kid responds with a smile when receiving an ice-cream, and a girl is blushing when being admired. This kind of nonverbal communication is called gestures.

Military signallers use hand and body gestures to direct flight operations aboard aircraft carriers.

Psychologically, gesture is the most easiest way of revealing one's real responses towards certain condition or situation.

Pointing can have a variety of uses and meanings.

In America, gestures are used just like in other country, but then, there are certain actions and motions that are translated as something negative or being rude! In normal social situations, Americans normally stand about 30 inches apart or less from one another, which is also considered their personal "comfort zone." But in certain Asians country, for west Indians and Puerto Ricans, straight and focus eye contact is considered to be rude and disrespectful, or may also indicate sexual overtones!

In the world of gestures, when we are travelling to other country, the 1st thing needs to come to mind is to remember the two A's - "Ask" and be "aware." If we see a motion or gesture that is new or confusing , ask a local person what it signifies. Then, be aware of the many body signs and customs around us. Together, we make gestures communication as a platform for different communities to live in peace...

GOTHIC GIRLS

Deep , dark and mysterious is what you have probably though about Goth Subculture...

The Goth subculture is a contemporary subculture found in many countries. It began in United Kingdom during the early 1980s. Members who belong to the Goth culture may or may not always share the same interest in terms of music , fashions and others. A group of people who feel comfortable within each other. There is no specific things that defined what you need to do or be to fit into the goth scence (except of course the black clothing !)

People in goth scence all have a different musical tastes,
follow different religions, have different occupations, hobbies and also fashion sense.Goth are free thinker, people who do not accept the moral rules of the society because they are told "This is just how it is" or "this is what God says".
Many goths today are goths for a variety of other reasons. They like a music or the club are better , they have goth friends and joined in with them or they just like staying up late nights and goths are the only ones awake to talk to.

Gothic fashion has also been associated with dark clothing that often goes towards black. Typical gothic fashion includes dyed black hair , dark eyeliner , black fingernails and black clothing (goths may or may not have piercings).

The gothic subculture has also been a source of inspiration for artists and musicians as well. This culture is also found with horror. Most artists who used the goth subculture as a base for their works always used romantic and mystic image for their work. Movie such as 'The Crow' and bands such as the Bauhaus helped established the gothic image as dark , depressing and even evil.
