POPULATION IN MALAYSIA
ž Can be divided into 3 major areas :
~ compact population
~ moderate population
~ wide-apart population



Compact population
ž Have more than 5000 people in a km²
ž Example:
In Peninsular Malaysia
~Kuala Lumpur
~Lembah Klang
In Sabah & Sarawak
~Kuching
~Kota Kinabalu


Moderate Population
ž Usually stated near by the city
ž Have population less than the compact population
ž Example:
In Peninsular Malaysia
~Lembah Sungai Kelantan
~Lembah Sungai Perak
In Sabah & Sarawak
~Sarikei-Bitagor
~Lembah Kinabatangan


Wide-Apart Population
ž In rural areas consist of mountains, thick forest and swamp.
ž Main range areas in Malaysia:
~ Banjaran Titiwangsa
~ Banjaran Crocker
~ Banjaran Gunung Tahan




AGE DISTRIBUTION TRENDS


ž The data is taken from 2002 to 2008
ž The data is slightly dropped for the age of <> 64 years, the population grew slightly except for the year 2005 and 2006 which were unchanged.



CONCLUSION
So we can see that population in Malaysia always increases steadily annually for every stages of age.
There may be some economically factors which effect this result.
In future, we can conclude that the population in Malaysia may increase in the same way too.
